My story:
So to tell you honestly, this is more of a rave than a review just because I am deeply in love with this soap and NOPE, I am not raving about this product just because it's from the Philippines, I like it because it works for me and I don't think anything has been this effective in keeping my skin under control for the longest period of time ever.
My auntie actually introduced me to this soap because she noticed that her co-worker had a clear skin which is unusual because she said that her co-worker had tons of acne on her face too, prolly not as worst as mine but you get the idea.
So I told myself, what's there to lose, my acne can't be any worst than it is now.
I religiously used the soap and the first week of using it was just amaaaaaazing, I didn't really break out as often as I used to and some of my HUGE cystic acne were drying. I didn't really take photos while using the soap for 2 weeks just because I thought it was just another product that will come and go but it proved me wrong, some things really don't need to be that expensive to work, you just have to find the right product that suits your skin. Believe me when I tell you that I had spent so much money(not that I'm rich but I consider myself below middle class) struggling with acne and just getting my skin back, I have tried these and that!(sadly I wasn't into blogging at that time so I was not able to post any reviews about all the products that I used)
Before using the soap, didn't want to post this pix of mine but I had no other choice lol, I can't find any pictures of me with acne that I looked good.
So on my 3rd week of using it, I started to document my reuslts just because I am really seeing an overall improvement on my skin.

How did I use it?note: for that 6-week period time, I only used this soap, no moisturizer, no toner, no anything just because I wanted to see the effectiveness of this product, So even if my face was really becoming flaky and super dry, I did not use anything with it until after that 6-week period time.
In the morning I would wash my face with luke warm water then rub the soap on my palms until it creates a foamy texture then I would apply that on my face and leave it on for 3-6 minutes then I'll wash it with luke warm water and finish it with a splash of cold water. I repeat those steps in the evening and at night.

Hmm, are you referring to the soap or the astringent? regarding the soap I don't really know if there are side effects but I still do break out like once a week cuz of maybe work, stress and lack of sleep or sumtin.
For the astringent, there are maxipeel #1,2 and 3 and yes I have read some review about its side effects but I haven't tried it on my face just because I think the Maxi Peel soap alone in my opinion can combat my pimples. I have been using it since May 2011 and still using it.
As you can see on the photo it did a great job in removing my HUGE CYSTIC ACNE and it does well on lightening my scars too! so I suggest you give it a try for atleast 6 weeks and if it doesn't work for you I guess you can always try other products. We all have different skin types and lifestyle so ofcourse results may vary =) hope I helped. any more questions I'm just here. Have a great day!
and in regards to your other question, no I don't wear sunblock. I ALWAYS have my umbrella with me to protect my skin from excessive sunlight. I notice when I put too much products on my skin, I tend to break out, when I dont use anything, I break out too, so I guess you just have to get to know your skin a little and go from there. Also, water therapy is good! whenever I get pimples, I drink lots and lots and lots of water.
Hi there, I was looking into Maxi-Peel soap for a couple weeks now, but I've been scared of all the peeling that may occur. My acne is not as severe, but do have many scars, hyperpigmentation scars, from picking at pimples. Is the soap very effective with fading the scars? Do you know about how long it will take? Thank you!
What's good about this soap is that it only does micro peel meaning you won't see any skin that is peeling off(example: like getting chemical peels etc).
If you have tried kojic soaps or any other soap that have that stinging sensation, this one is different. it does not have any of that stinging feeling at all even if you leave it on your face for more than an hour and it's very gentle in my opinion and it does a great job in lightening my scars.
When I had severece acne, The first thing that came into my mind is that "OMFG I WILL SURELY HAVE VERY VERY BAD ACNE MARKS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE" but honestly, this soap does wonders! =)
I tried the maxi peel tretinoin(IDK THE SPELLING) for my scars on my chest but sadly, it's too harsh for my skin so I figured it wouldn't work on my face but on the other hand, the soap is the best! when I get back to the Philippines next month I'm going to bring dozens of soap with me! haha XD
It will take you more than 3 weeks to see improvement, and more than 2 months for dramatic results.

Hi there. I'm from the Philippines. I see you have problems with acne. I too have occasional systic acne, but not as worst as yours. I've shared how I combat acne in my blog , you might want to check it.
Anyway, I really wanna help you. I definitely know how it feels to suffer from acne. I'm sharing my regimen.
Morning and Evening 1. Wash with gentle soap.
2. Follow it up with ACV- Apple Cider Vinegar. (you can try it pure or dillute it with water)|Green Tea toner | or Eskinol Derma Clear C with Dalacin C. Just alternate what you use.
3.Then moisturize.
And drink plenty of water and green tea. Trust me these really work for me.
The ACV and Green Tea are also good for spot treatment.
YOu can try all of these but do a skin test first. Goodluck and I hope you cure your acne.
I have a very sensitive skin. I tried all products to heal my pimples but nothing worked well for me. One day, I stumbled at an olay regenerist cream cleanser (black one) in my mom's bathroom. The product did not indicate that it was for anti-acne but when i used it regularly my pimples cleared. This was the only thing that worked well for me. Im so happy and thankful.

Some people say that you have to break out really really bad before you're skin starts to gets clear but I didn't experience anything major major. Try it for atleast 2 months and if it doesn't work for you then I'm sorry.
Anyways the before photos that is seen in this post is NOTHING compared to what my skin really looked liked in person before using this soap, I was crying every night because of the pain that my acne was inflicting (yes, it was that worst) but more than that, I felt suicidal in one point.
I stopped using this soap for more than a month ago I think, not that it wasn't working for me anymore because I always know that this is THAT soap that I will resort to whenever my acne goes on RAMPAGE again.
I'm using something right now and I will be posting it maybe by the end of this month.

so yeah, try maxi peel soap because like what I said if it doesn't work for you then maybe you should see a dermatologist or try something else.

i'm having problems with acne at the moment i hate how it affects my self confidence and esteem, alam ko na tong maxipeel soap kaso katakot itry, ung tret and hydro ung parang sa maxipeel ive tried it na, as in nagbabalat mukha ko, i stopped it na bec why friends say na parang balaat ahas mukha ko hahahaha. ano ba best para sa acne prone skin ang hirap tlaga buti pa ung iba ang kikinis:(
I'm sorry to hear, maybe try talking to a trusted dermatologist if you're really having trouble with acne. Acne prone din ako super duper, when I stress, when I dont get enough sleep, when I over wash/under wash, I break out easily etc. etc. etc.
I have pimples right now maybe 3 or more? but I know it's because of stress plus I recently kept on touching my face although not as bad as before. Atleast I can take pictures now, I'm currently using Diamond L-Glutathion Orange Peel with my Clarisonic + serums for under eye etc. so far so good.
yeah, i think sometimes the cause of my acne is not that the external causes like facial wash, moisturizers, touching of my face, poor hygiene. i think sa genes na talaga to it's something hereditary, sinasabe ko na nga lang minsan paopera nalang ako pag mayaman nako. pero ndi severe super ung acne ko, pimple prone lang ako, imagine others ndi na natutulog etc ndi naghihilamos pero they have great skin nasa genes talaga:) o well:)

I think it helps sa whiteheads because kahit ako may problem din ako jan although hindi maxadong hard kasi I'm using clarisonic. Or pwede mo ipaprick sa derma pero I don't really reccomend, kasi parang jan nabutas ung face ko hehe sa kakaprick zzz.

For that first 6 week period of time na ginamit ko to, Ito lang ang gamit ko, walang iba, after 6 weeks, I remmber using St. Ives apricot blemish and blackhead control minsan and Hada Labo Lotion.
Itry mo to if your skin gets red then you must be allergic to it or something? It has salicylic acid. Check mo rin yong ingredients kung meron kang allergic reaction dun. Kung allergic ka, I suggest, discontinue use.
Itry mo muna sa backside of your hands 24 hours before mo gamitin sa face mo, to test kung may allergic reaction ka or check the contents, kung wala then try mo na sa face mo.
Iba iba kasi skin natin so, dko rin alam kung pano magrereact ang skin mo sa sabon para malaman ko kung sobra na paggamit mo. Basta use it at the most twice a day, kasi ako nun medyo nag dry ung skin ko kasi binababad ko nang bonggang bongga. pero ok naman kasi namatay isa isa lahat ng tagyawat kong super madami nun. So pag dry na skin mo, now time to add a moisturizer.

I used this soap alone for that first 6 week period, then after 6 weeks, I remember including St. Ives Apricot Blemish and blackhead control sometimes and Hada Labo Lotion into my skin care routine.
You should try it but if your skin gets red you must be allergic to it or something. It has salicylic acid. You should also check the ingredients if there is anything that you're aware of that you might have an allergic reaction to. If your allergic to it, I suggest, discontinue use.
To know whether your allergic to it, try using it on the backside of your hands 24 hours prior on using it or check the product content. If your not allergic, then I guess you can use it on your face.
We all have different skin type so I don't know how will your skin react to the soap. If you want to try this soap, use it twice a day at the most, When I was using it I was letting the soap sit on my face for awhile that's why my skin was dry but it's all good because my acne had dried out slowly but surely one by one. When your skin gets too dry, don't forget to use moisturizer.
Just want to say that I totally agree with you that Maxi-peel soap is very effective. I never noticed that it was effective until someone said to me "blooming ka ata ah". CHeap product yet effective. =)

I have no pimple. I am using Maxi peel exfoliant (Not soap) from about 2 months for my ance scars on the back & face. It is amazing. Now I have just few scars on my back. Now I want to start this soap for my scars & for skin whitening. So I want to know that can i use this soap as a regular soap to wash whole body for 1-2 months? Because I have small scars on my whole body. Now I have no pimples just having scars. So can I use it once in the morning for whole body & face? I am in Dubai. Here I can easily find this product.
I only used this product on my face and I still use it whenever I'm breaking out really bad.
As for the body scarring etc. I never used maxi-peel soap on my body, but I am currently using L-Glutathione Orange Peel soap on all over my body and face and so far so good. I have unbelievable scarring on my back too and I think thiL-Glutathione helped, you can try any other whitening/lightening soap that exfoliates if this doesn't work out for you or you can just use the maxi-peel soap too =)
and, Lemon or Calamansi rub it every night and leave it for like 10 mins or so, it helps with lightening some body discolorations.

heres the secret : if you have virgin face (meaning u havent use anything on your face but you have acne heres the routine. neutrogena soap transparent, afterwards apricot st ives blemish fighting,( or if u have budget buy another one at ivea brigthening combine it),eskinol cucumber (any variants as long as hiyang kayo),wash ur face with water gain,kasi malagkit lahat ng product nothing should stay on ir face, optional moisturiser olay.. clear skin is no blemish tapos bit oily ung parang healthy.. mind you super effective..
next if u have tried tons of product as in all of the products u can imagine oh men routine: buy an acne soap like godiva or neutrogena transparent bata hiyang and then toner celeteque ung hydration that it the wash with water again remember get magnifying mirror dapat kc clear skin walang nakaharang sa balat thats the key to beautiful skin napansin nio ba ung kutis mayaman espicially sa mall pagrtista o lalaki na mayaman ganfa balat clear la makeup

Hello po. I don't have facial acne but I'm not really happy with my body skin. Thus, i minimize wearing outfits that would just reveal my arms and legs which is really sad cos I'm a girl :/
How do you think it will work just as a body soap? Will it make my skin smooth just as when i was a baby? hehe :D If yes, how long do you think will it take? I probably don't mind minimum visible peeling as i wear jeans anyway when i go out. Please help. I want to exfoliate really bad with massive discomfort.
Just take your time when you're exfoliating, because you don't want to over exfoliate, not good for our skin (although I do it all the time LOL) anyways you can try to use the maxi peel soap on your body and see how it goes, I only used it on my face so I wouldn't know what the results may be when you use it on your body so just try it, give it a few weeks or months, if you see improvement then stick to it for the time being =)

Hi, I am April and really bothered with my skin. I have been using maxi peel for about two weeks now and I have seen a gradual imporvement (lightens skin and dried up my pimples). However, everyone around me noticed that my face is swelling!I tried to look for comments experiencing the same thing but couldnt find any. My face peeled after a week, turned red and now swelling on its second week. Is this still normal or should I stop using it already? Hoping for your response and thank you in advance!

If youre swelling then that's not good, you might want to lessen the use of the soap or stop for awhile then use again if you decide to, But if you feel that it may cause more irritation on your face then just stop using it and give your skin a break for awhile =) I do that all the time. Nag-umpisa po aq magkapimple last summer hanggang magtuloytuloy po ito at napansin q po na parang dumadami na at lumalala napansin ko rin na lumalaki ang pores q, marami na rin po akong products na nagamit including kojie san, eskinol with dalacin-c pero niisa wlang umepekto hanggang makita q ang blog na to...naengganyo aqng gumamit ng maxipeel dahil may mga patunay dahil may mga photos..2 weeks na po ako gumamit nito pero napapansin q po na may lumalabas na red na pimple sa akin wala nmang puti pero pag hinipo masakit..normal lng po ba na lumabas yung maraming pimple habang ginagamit ang product na to? at pwde pa rin po ba aq gumamit ng maxipeel concealer kahit gabi? kc may nabasa aq na ang concealer ay hindi lng pangproteksyon sa araw, pangalis rin ito ng darkspots....last question na po....ilang months po ba bago totally nawala na yung acne scars niyo? kasi po napansin q na kahit ika 6th week ay meron pa rin po kayong acne scars
During my research on acne treatment, I've encountered the lemon juice treatment. It is a topical solution, that is, you apply fresh lemon juice to the acne areas of your face.
My question is, do you think it's ok to apply lemon juice after you wash with maxi-peel? That is, it is ok to have a maxi-peel + lemon juice treatment? I'm just worried if there would be some negative chemical reaction between the two materials.
Just became interested for it seems it is a potentially great combination treatment!hehe
To all who have pimples, in order to totally recover ur face, u have to drain all the pus 1st. The principle on this is based on medical practice for wound healing using debridement. QUESTION: how to drain pus (nana) from ur face? GO TO ANY FACIAL CENTER and avail their facial cleaning. They will PRICK ur pimples to evacuate pus, remove blackheads etc. The result will be fresh wounds that will heal eventually. To aid healing, use mild cleanser like cetaphil. You may have multiple sessions to completely recover. Also avail antiseptic mask every facial cleaning to fasten healing. Be patient until u have no breakouts anymore. The result may give u some scars but it is better than recurring pimples.
2nd step... Once u have clear face, that's the time u can use whitening soaps to minimize scars visibility. DONT use whitening / exfolating soaps when u have pimples because it will just worsen the condition. LIKAS PAPAYA is effective to lighten scars and prevent breakouts. Use it mildly not too much.
Additional advice:
Do not take dairy products like MILK (especially full cream) any drink with milk contents, also cheese. U can google milk causes acne. The reason is milk has hormones ( from cow) which is related to hormonal imbalance.
Take vit c once a day 500 mg after meal
Sleep 8 hrs a day
Wash ur face before sleeping
Use babypowder after wash when going outside to lessen oiliness that may attract dirts/ pollutants
Creams are not advisable for oily acne prone
Minimize touching ur face.use tissue or handkerchief
If u have money, take reduced gluta aka L glutathione

Hmm, are you referring to the soap or the astringent? regarding the soap I don't really know if there are side effects but I still do break out like once a week cuz of maybe work, stress and lack of sleep or sumtin.
ReplyDeleteFor the astringent, there are maxipeel #1,2 and 3 and yes I have read some review about its side effects but I haven't tried it on my face just because I think the Maxi Peel soap alone in my opinion can combat my pimples. I have been using it since May 2011 and still using it.
As you can see on the photo it did a great job in removing my HUGE CYSTIC ACNE and it does well on lightening my scars too! so I suggest you give it a try for atleast 6 weeks and if it doesn't work for you I guess you can always try other products. We all have different skin types and lifestyle so ofcourse results may vary =) hope I helped. any more questions I'm just here. Have a great day!
and in regards to your other question, no I don't wear sunblock. I ALWAYS have my umbrella with me to protect my skin from excessive sunlight. I notice when I put too much products on my skin, I tend to break out, when I dont use anything, I break out too, so I guess you just have to get to know your skin a little and go from there. Also, water therapy is good! whenever I get pimples, I drink lots and lots and lots of water.

ReplyDeleteWhat's good about this soap is that it only does micro peel meaning you won't see any skin that is peeling off(example: like getting chemical peels etc).
If you have tried kojic soaps or any other soap that have that stinging sensation, this one is different. it does not have any of that stinging feeling at all even if you leave it on your face for more than an hour and it's very gentle in my opinion and it does a great job in lightening my scars.
When I had severece acne, The first thing that came into my mind is that "OMFG I WILL SURELY HAVE VERY VERY BAD ACNE MARKS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE" but honestly, this soap does wonders! =)
I tried the maxi peel tretinoin(IDK THE SPELLING) for my scars on my chest but sadly, it's too harsh for my skin so I figured it wouldn't work on my face but on the other hand, the soap is the best! when I get back to the Philippines next month I'm going to bring dozens of soap with me! haha XD
It will take you more than 3 weeks to see improvement, and more than 2 months for dramatic results.

I definitely know how it feels to suffer from acne. I'm sharing my regimen.
Morning and Evening
1. Wash with gentle soap.
2. Follow it up with ACV- Apple Cider Vinegar. (you can try it pure or dillute it with water)|Green Tea toner | or Eskinol Derma Clear C with Dalacin C. Just alternate what you use.
3.Then moisturize.
And drink plenty of water and green tea. Trust me these really work for me.
The ACV and Green Tea are also good for spot treatment.
YOu can try all of these but do a skin test first. Goodluck and I hope you cure your acne.

One day, I stumbled at an olay regenerist cream cleanser (black one) in my mom's bathroom. The product did not indicate that it was for anti-acne but when i used it regularly my pimples cleared. This was the only thing that worked well for me. Im so happy and thankful.

Some people say that you have to break out really really bad before you're skin starts to gets clear but I didn't experience anything major major. Try it for atleast 2 months and if it doesn't work for you then I'm sorry.
ReplyDeleteAnyways the before photos that is seen in this post is NOTHING compared to what my skin really looked liked in person before using this soap, I was crying every night because of the pain that my acne was inflicting (yes, it was that worst) but more than that, I felt suicidal in one point.
I stopped using this soap for more than a month ago I think, not that it wasn't working for me anymore because I always know that this is THAT soap that I will resort to whenever my acne goes on RAMPAGE again.
I'm using something right now and I will be posting it maybe by the end of this month.

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear, maybe try talking to a trusted dermatologist if you're really having trouble with acne. Acne prone din ako super duper, when I stress, when I dont get enough sleep, when I over wash/under wash, I break out easily etc. etc. etc.
ReplyDeleteI have pimples right now maybe 3 or more? but I know it's because of stress plus I recently kept on touching my face although not as bad as before. Atleast I can take pictures now, I'm currently using Diamond L-Glutathion Orange Peel with my Clarisonic + serums for under eye etc. so far so good.
yeah, i think sometimes the cause of my acne is not that the external causes like facial wash, moisturizers, touching of my face, poor hygiene.

Itry mo to if your skin gets red then you must be allergic to it or something? It has salicylic acid. Check mo rin yong ingredients kung meron kang allergic reaction dun. Kung allergic ka, I suggest, discontinue use.
Itry mo muna sa backside of your hands 24 hours before mo gamitin sa face mo, to test kung may allergic reaction ka or check the contents, kung wala then try mo na sa face mo.
Iba iba kasi skin natin so, dko rin alam kung pano magrereact ang skin mo sa sabon para malaman ko kung sobra na paggamit mo. Basta use it at the most twice a day, kasi ako nun medyo nag dry ung skin ko kasi binababad ko nang bonggang bongga. pero ok naman kasi namatay isa isa lahat ng tagyawat kong super madami nun. So pag dry na skin mo, now time to add a moisturizer.

You should try it but if your skin gets red you must be allergic to it or something. It has salicylic acid. You should also check the ingredients if there is anything that you're aware of that you might have an allergic reaction to. If your allergic to it, I suggest, discontinue use.
To know whether your allergic to it, try using it on the backside of your hands 24 hours prior on using it or check the product content. If your not allergic, then I guess you can use it on your face.
We all have different skin type so I don't know how will your skin react to the soap. If you want to try this soap, use it twice a day at the most, When I was using it I was letting the soap sit on my face for awhile that's why my skin was dry but it's all good because my acne had dried out slowly but surely one by one. When your skin gets too dry, don't forget to use moisturizer.
Just want to say that I totally agree with you that Maxi-peel soap is very effective. I never noticed that it was effective until someone said to me "blooming ka ata ah". CHeap product yet effective. =)

As for the body scarring etc. I never used maxi-peel soap on my body, but I am currently using L-Glutathione Orange Peel soap on all over my body and face and so far so good. I have unbelievable scarring on my back too and I think thiL-Glutathione helped, you can try any other whitening/lightening soap that exfoliates if this doesn't work out for you or you can just use the maxi-peel soap too =)
and, Lemon or Calamansi rub it every night and leave it for like 10 mins or so, it helps with lightening some body discolorations.

Just take your time when you're exfoliating, because you don't want to over exfoliate, not good for our skin (although I do it all the time LOL) anyways you can try to use the maxi peel soap on your body and see how it goes, I only used it on my face so I wouldn't know what the results may be when you use it on your body so just try it, give it a few weeks or months, if you see improvement then stick to it for the time being =)

If youre swelling then that's not good, you might want to lessen the use of the soap or stop for awhile then use again if you decide to, But if you feel that it may cause more irritation on your face then just stop using it and give your skin a break for awhile =) I do that all the time. ReplyDeleteNag-umpisa po aq magkapimple last summer hanggang magtuloytuloy po ito at napansin q po na parang dumadami na at lumalala napansin ko rin na lumalaki ang pores q, marami na rin po akong products na nagamit including kojie san, eskinol with dalacin-c pero niisa wlang umepekto hanggang makita q ang blog na to...naengganyo aqng gumamit ng maxipeel dahil may mga patunay dahil may mga photos..2 weeks na po ako gumamit nito pero napapansin q po na may lumalabas na red na pimple sa akin wala nmang puti pero pag hinipo masakit..normal lng po ba na lumabas yung maraming pimple habang ginagamit ang product na to? at pwde pa rin po ba aq gumamit ng maxipeel concealer kahit gabi? kc may nabasa aq na ang concealer ay hindi lng pangproteksyon sa araw, pangalis rin ito ng darkspots....last question na po....ilang months po ba bago totally nawala na yung acne scars niyo? kasi po napansin q na kahit ika 6th week ay meron pa rin po kayong acne scars

During my research on acne treatment, I've encountered the lemon juice treatment. It is a topical solution, that is, you apply fresh lemon juice to the acne areas of your face.
My question is, do you think it's ok to apply lemon juice after you wash with maxi-peel? That is, it is ok to have a maxi-peel + lemon juice treatment? I'm just worried if there would be some negative chemical reaction between the two materials.
Just became interested for it seems it is a potentially great combination treatment!hehe

To all who have pimples, in order to totally recover ur face, u have to drain all the pus 1st. The principle on this is based on medical practice for wound healing using debridement. QUESTION: how to drain pus (nana) from ur face? GO TO ANY FACIAL CENTER and avail their facial cleaning. They will PRICK ur pimples to evacuate pus, remove blackheads etc. The result will be fresh wounds that will heal eventually. To aid healing, use mild cleanser like cetaphil. You may have multiple sessions to completely recover. Also avail antiseptic mask every facial cleaning to fasten healing. Be patient until u have no breakouts anymore. The result may give u some scars but it is better than recurring pimples.
ReplyDelete2nd step... Once u have clear face, that's the time u can use whitening soaps to minimize scars visibility. DONT use whitening / exfolating soaps when u have pimples because it will just worsen the condition. LIKAS PAPAYA is effective to lighten scars and prevent breakouts. Use it mildly not too much.
Additional advice:
Do not take dairy products like MILK (especially full cream) any drink with milk contents, also cheese. U can google milk causes acne. The reason is milk has hormones ( from cow) which is related to hormonal imbalance.
Take vit c once a day 500 mg after meal
Sleep 8 hrs a day
Wash ur face before sleeping
Use babypowder after wash when going outside to lessen oiliness that may attract dirts/ pollutants
Creams are not advisable for oily acne prone
Minimize touching ur face.use tissue or handkerchief
If u have money, take reduced gluta aka L glutathione

Meron akong nakita sa goods.ph (https://www.goods.ph/maxi-peel-whitening-soap-90g-8854.html), na maxipeel ttry kong umorder by next week kung wala namang gagawin.
